Clifford C. Heck, 91 years, of Temperance, MI passed
away Saturday, November 24, 2012, in Lake Park,
Sylvania, OH.
Clifford ran several successful
businesses in Bedford Township and was known as the
long time owner and operator of Cliff's Auto Parts
and Salvage on Lewis Ave. in Temperance.
The son of
Harry and Bertha (Rambow) Heck, he was born December
12, 1920, in Monroe. December 24, 1941, he married
the love of his life for over 60 years, Pauline
Whitmill.
Cliff served his Country as a U.S. Army
Staff Sgt. in WWII as a platoon leader, winning
Bronze Battle Stars in Rhineland and Central Europe.
He was wounded twice in France receiving the Purple
Heart, Good Conduct Medal, and other ribbons and
citations. He also was a prisoner of war in Europe
where he braved his own escape.
Clifford was a well known fixture in Temperance and
will be sadly missed by all, especially his loving
children, Janice (Richard) Swanson, Dennis (Mary Lou
Craig) Heck, Christine Beck, Patrick (Laura) Heck,
11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by his loving wife, Pauline, April
12, 2003, his brothers and sisters, and 2
grandchildren.
