Harlan
E. Houpt, age 71, of Dundee passed away December 11, 2011 in
Port Charlotte, FL. Harlan was born January 29, 1940 in Dundee,
the son of Russell and Margaret (Coleman) Houpt, who preceded
him in death.
He married Dianne Heiden on April
3, 1965 in Dundee. Harlan graduated from
Dundee High School in
1958. He was the owner of H. E. Houpt Construction Co., retiring
in 1997. He attended Westgate Chapel in Toledo, OH.
Harlan loved spending the winters
in Florida, being outdoors, gardening, and canning. He was a big
fan of NASCAR going to many races over the past several years.
Harlan is survived by his wife,
daughter Andrea (Jay) Kimura of Toledo, OH, son Brett (Cheryl)
of Troy, MI, grandchildren Jake Coon, Jack Kimura, and Rachel
Houpt. In addition, he is survived by his brother, Larry
(Shirley) of Dundee, sisters Bonnie (Frank) Corum of Liberty,
MO, Judy (Frank) Briggs, Sharon (Bob) Smith of Dundee, and
Jackee (Bud) Kish of Britton and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation was handled by Kays,
Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home in Port Charlotte. A memorial
service for family and friends will be held at 11:00 a.m. on
January 28, 2012 at the Dundee Assembly of God at 13790 S.
Custer Road in Dundee. |
