Bertha Mae (Heiden) Drake was born March 28, 1918 as the third child of Herman and Reka (Rambow) Heiden. She was born after the family moved to Coe Township, Isabella County in 1915 from Dundee, Michigan.

On October 21, 1939, she married Cecil Wesley Drake in Coe Township. They had three children.

In 1993 they were living in Niles in Berrien County, Michigan. Later, they moved to Maricopa County, Arizona where Bertha died at the age of 97 on July 21, 2015. She is buried at Salt River Cemetery in Shepherd, Michigan.

Cecil was born on November 21, 1915 in Shepherd and graduated from Shepherd High School. He worked as a farmer, police chief and deputy sheriff in Isabella County. On June 4, 2000, he died in Niles and was also buried at Salt River Cemetery. He was 84 years old.

One child, Dian Loral Drake, preceded them in death in 1946.
 

Bertha (18 months) is living with her parents, Herman and Fredareka Heiden on the home farm in Chippewa Township, Isabella County, Michigan. Her brother Lewis (19) and sister Nellie (12) lived there also.
