Ethel (Boyd) Pyle was born on October 5, 1885 as the daughter of Nancy (Anderson) and Thomas Boyd.

On April 24, 1907 she married John E. Pyle.

They had six children:

3. Wilma A. Pyle

4. Thomas Wendell Pyle

5. Ethelyn Nannette Pyle

6. Hildreth L. Pyle

Ethel died on December 2, 1965 at the age of 80. She is buried at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh, Lenawee County, Michigan.
