Erastus Getty was born on October 27, 1874 as the second  son of Peter and Rebekah (Cone) Getty'

He married Jeanie Margareta Nissen on February 17, 1880 and they had one child: Maren (Getty) Prevratil.

Erastus died on June 7, 1907 of consumption i.e. tuberculosis, at the age of 33.

Jeanie who was born on February 17, 1880, died on April 24, 1972 at the age of 92. Following Erastus' death, she married Harry Wiese.
