Betty Margaret (Getty) Masten was born on  September 23, 1927, as the daughter of Russell and Helen (Bowman) Getty.

She married Billy Albert Masten and they had two children:

1. Michael Billy Masten

2. Patricia Lee (Masten) Hundley
