Ernest Harry Oliver was the son of Ralph and Helen (Polson) Oliver.

He served in the SeeBees in the U.S. Navy starting in November 1942 during World War II. Ernie was a fireman first class who trained at Camp Endicott in Rhode Island. Much of his duty occurred in the Southeast Pacific Ocean area.
