 Clyde
Wayne Oliver
was born June 22, 1913 in Britton, Michigan as the
son of Ernest H. and Mary (Curry)
Oliver.
He graduated from Britton High School in June,
1931 and from Eastern Michigan University in
June, 1934. During World War II from 1942 to
1945, Clyde served in the U.S. Coast Guard in
the Aleutian Islands off Alaska. He was a
Lieutenant Junior Grade. He was commissioned in
New London, Connecticut in November of 1942 and
was then stationed in Alaska. Prior to this, he
had been a teacher in the Detroit schools.
He was married to Lillian Hunt on December 28,
1943. They had one daughter, Susan Oliver.
Clyde died on May 7,
1995 in Chandler, Maricopa County, Arizona at the age of
81 and is buried in
Ridgeway Cemetery, Ridgeway Township, Lenawee
County, Michigan.
Lillian who was born in 1918 died in 2017 at the age
of 99. |
