Irvin Christopher Rehman, Sr. was born on February 3, 1900 at home at 115 Egg Harbor Road in Hammonton, Atlantic County, New Jersey. He was the son of Julius C., Sr. and Rosie (Menger) Rehmann.

In 1918, Irvin was working as a laborer at Atlantic Loading Co. in Elwood, New Jersey. He was living on Twelfth Street in Hammonton. By 1920, he was living as a boarder at 2318 Mercer Street, Ward 31 in Philadelphia and working at a slaughterhouse.

At some point, he married Pearl Mae Foster who was born in 1904.

In the 1940 census, Irvin and Pearl were living at 720 Twelfth Street in Hammonton with their children:

1. Ruth F. Rehmann

2. Irvin, Jr Rehmann

3. Richard Rehmann

4. Jack B. Rehmann (1935-2011)

At that time, Ivan was working for the Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) which was one of the federal programs to help people get through the Great Depression. Pearl was working half-time in a clothing factory.

Irvin passed away in 1962 and is buried at Greenmount Cemetery, Hammonton, New Jersey. Pearl died in 1948 and is also buried at Greenmount.
