In the mid to late 1800s, members of the Getty and Oliver families settled in the northeast corner of Lenawee County on the western border of Monroe County. The Gettys were from Northern Ireland and came to America in the 1850s. We are still doing research on the Olivers but, at this point, it seems that they came from England about the same time.

In 1891, Lena Belle Oliver married Ervin Leonidas Getty in nearby Britton, Michigan. Their daughter, Adeline "Addie" married Ralph Raymond Roggerman in 1909 and one of their children was Mildred Mae who married Arthur Heiden in 1934.

We will continue to explore this branch of the family in the coming months.
