Over the decades, we have gathered hundreds and hundreds of photos of individuals and groups in the families contained on this website. Using portraits and extracting individuals from group pictures, we have constructed pages that show a person at various ages from our earliest to our oldest image. Where possible, we have pictures of married couples through the years also.

On the right is an example page for Sally (Eipperle) Guy. Click on the image to see a full size version. There are total of 170 people included in this section...so far.

Starting with the first family members who came from Europe (August Heiden, Heinrich Rambow, George Getty and others) we have pulled together individual pictures to place in a family grouping. This includes people in the first three generations in America such as:

  1. August Heiden and his children

  2. August's children and their children Example: William Carl Heiden

  3. August's grandchildren and their children Example: Arthur Henry Heiden

Each page contains the parents and their children where applicable. The picture to upper left shows my family with my parents, Arthur and Mildred (Roggerman) Heiden. Click on it to see the full size version. There are over 65 of these family pages.

We have also added pages to show August Heiden's 38 grandchildren and another to show his 105  great grandchildren. For William Carl Heiden, we have a page that shows all of his 38 grandchildren in alphabetical and chronological order.

We are missing some pictures for the great grandchildren of August and Rika Heiden. If you have an image that you would share, please let us know. There is an email connection at the bottom of each page.

There is also a page with several 4 or 5 generation group photos.

For over 200 people, we have a personalized index page containing thumbnail images that are linked to a larger version. This includes pictures of the individual alone or in groups. If, for example, four people are shown in a group photo, a thumbnail and link will appear on all four index pages.

All pictures have a caption but in some cases, we do not have a name for everyone shown. On each page, there is an email graphic like the one below. Please help where you can.

Starting in 1921 and ending in 2002, the Heidens of Monroe County held 61 family reunions. They were a yearly event held mostly on the Fourth of the July and only two events were cancelled in the 1920s through the 1970s. Two reunions were held in the 1980s and the last two in 2000 and 2002.

We have accumulated over 85 images from these reunions. These range from the 1920s up to the final one in 2002.

Ancestry.com has a collection of digitized high school yearbooks from across the U.S. We have gathered together pictures for over 60 family members to show their activities and senior pictures from high schools across Michigan and in Toledo, Ohio. These range from 1929 to the 1970s.

Note: Many of these group pictures need to be viewed on a computer monitor for best effect.

The Village of Dundee was the center of the lives of many of the people in the families covered in this website. It was the location of Dundee Community Schools, a place of employment for people and a small shopping center for the community. We have gathered historical pictures of Dundee showing how it looked from the early 1900s into the 1960s. Included are newspaper ads for local stores to give you an idea of the prices and products available to the people who shopped in Dundee.

Bridge School is the oldest public school in Michigan. It was established in 1828 in Raisinville Township and was the educational hub for the first three or four American generations of our families. It was a one-room school with one teacher who handled from kindergarten to the eighth grade.

We have accumulated pictures from the early twentieth century to when the school was closed in the late 1940s. That was when it was consolidated into the Dundee Community Schools system.

The Lutheran church was very important in the lives of people of German heritage. We have many pictures of activities at St Matthew Lutheran Church and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

We have accumulated a number of 8 mm films and VHS video tapes of family activities ranging back to the 1940s. There are also several audio tapes of interviews with family members. With luck, during 2026, we will get these digitized and make them available. .

We have pulled together a large number of links to all of the photos found on this website. This includes images of individuals, groups, reunions, school pictures, locations and other pictures associated with all of the families in this website.
