Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Heiden of Monroe are observing their 60th
wedding anniversary today. They will celebrate Sunday with a
family gathering at the Grass Lake home of their daughter and
son-in-law, Kim and Ed Tomalak.
Mr. Heiden married Doris Petee
June 30, 1951, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Deerfield. The
Rev. John Foley officiated.
The couple's other children and
their spouses are Greg and Sherry Heiden, Jeff and Liz Heiden
and Lynn and Tom Brennan, all of Monroe. They also have 15
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Heiden is a 1945 graduate of
Dundee High School. He served in the Navy from 1945-46 and in
the Air Force from 1951-54. He then worked 22 years for the U.S.
Postal Service in Monroe.
Mrs. Heiden is a 1947 graduate of
Petersburg High School. She worked 22 years for Ford Motor Co.,
retiring in 1982.
Their memberships include the
American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Monroe Boat
Club. They enjoy boating, bowling, snowmobiling and golfing.
After retiring, the Heidens spent their summers in northern
Michigan and winters in Florida. |
