Nelda J. Billau, age 75, of Temperance, MI, died Monday, June 28, 2010, in her home. Born October 30, 1934, in Raisinville Twp., MI, she was the daughter of William and Alice (Brossia) Heiden.

She married Alvin R. Billau on May 1, 1954. Nelda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a member of the Bedford Senior Center and enjoyed sewing, square dancing, ceramics and crafts.

Surviving are her loving husband of 56 years, Alvin. Children, Debra Billau, Alvin R.W. (Beckie) Billau and Allen LeRoy (Linda) Billau. Sister, Shirley Bruechert. Grandchildren, Amber, Troy, Roy and Shannon Billau and Tracy (Timothy) Stevens. Great Grandchildren, James, Dustin, Timothy, Savanna, JasLynn and Tabitha.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Marvin Heiden.

Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Wednesday and 2-9 pm Thursday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 in St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Temperance, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am. Pastor Frank Paine, officiating. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
