Virginia
Bell Davis, age 95, of St. Johns, MI passed away Monday, April
22, 2024, at Burcham Hills, East Lansing, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, St.
Johns, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, with Rev.
Timothy Bayer officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30
A.M. until the time of the service Saturday at the church.
Burial will take place at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery.
Virginia was born in Clare, Michigan on December 11, 1928, the
daughter of Lewis and Zina (Robinson) Heiden. On November 20,
1948, Virginia married Orvest J. "Johnny" Davis in Lansing, MI.
They were blessed with nearly 70 years of marriage prior to his
passing on May 5, 2018.
Virginia was a bus driver for DeWitt Public Schools for 22
years.
Virginia and Johnny enjoyed making different crafts and
traveling around Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio to craft shows and
selling their items. 4-H was a large part of Virginia and
Johnny's lives and they dedicated many hours to the talent &
beef shows. Virginia and Johnny loved dancing together,
especially to the Mello Tones. They always grew a beautiful
garden, and flowers. They loved canning their produce, baking
pies, picking blueberries, and making homemade jam to share with
friends and family. Virginia was a member of St. Peter Lutheran
Church where she was active in organizing funeral luncheons and
ladies aid.
She is survived by two daughters: Linda Davis, and Kathy and
Harold Schmidt, son Randy and Rhonda Davis, eight grandchildren;
20 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren, her
brother Edward and Delores Heiden, and one sister Irene Watson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Johnny,
siblings: Herman, Ben, Laura, Betty, and Dora.
