Doris E. Heiden,
age 88 of Monroe, died at 2:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27th at
Alice Lorraine Care Center. She had been seriously ill for
two months.
Family and friends may visit from 3 p.m. to 8
p.m. Sunday at Rupp Funeral Home where services will be held
at 1 p.m. Monday. Deacon Mike Stewart of St. John the
Baptist Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow
at Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg.
Born July 4, 1929 in
Toledo, Ohio, Doris was the daughter of the late Chester and
Evelyn (Wintringham) Petee. She graduated from Summerfield
High School in 1947 and married Donald E. Heiden on June 30,
1951 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Deerfield.
Doris was
employed by Ford Motor Company in Monroe for twenty four
years, retiring in 1984. She was a former member of the
Monroe Boat Club, the Moose Lodge, Shalamar Creek Golf
Community and its choir in Lakeland, Florida, and Sugar
Springs Living Community in Gladwin. Doris had previously
attended St. Michael Catholic Church in Monroe and St.
Joseph Catholic Church in Ida.
Doris is survived by her
husband, Donald of Monroe; two sons, Gregory Heiden and
Jeffery (Liz) Heiden, both of Monroe; two daughters, Kim
(Ed) Tomalak of Grass Lake and Lynn (Tom) Brennan of Monroe;
sister, Roberta (Urvin) Reau of Britton; sister-in-law,
Carol Petee of Petersburg; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren
.In
addition to her parents, Doris was also preceded in death by
a brother, Ronald Petee.Memorial donations are suggested to
the Alzheimer’s Association.
