Neil Leslie Heiden, age 68, went to be with his
Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 18, 2021.
Neil was born in Monroe, Michigan on Oct 20,
1952 to parents Robert and Roberta Heiden.
Neil married Karen Heiden (Nirschl) at St.
Michael Catholic Church, October 15, 1971 in
Monroe Michigan.
Neil graduated from Monroe High School and
Monroe Community College and played football for
the Detroit Warriors (semi-pro football team).
He worked 10 years at Ford Motor Company and
then the United Postal Service for 30 years in
Monroe and Blissfield.
Neil had a passion for
coaching and officiating softball and wrestling,
fishing (winning the FLW Tour on the Detroit
River in 2005), gardening, decorating for
Christmas, and treasured watching his daughters
and grandchildren play sports. Neil also won the
WTOL Biggest loser competition in 2018.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years Karen, his
daughters Pollyanna (Ron Robing) and Amanda
(Mike Babin), Sister Lori Cannell, brother Mark
Heiden and 5 grandchildren (Justin, Emma and
Jordan Robling, Alex and Brady Babin).
He is proceeded in death by his parents and his
brother Dale Heiden.
Neil will be buried at Blissfield cemetery with
memorial later in the summer. Neil had
undeniable zest for life and will be greatly
missed by his family and friends.
