Richard L. Heiden, 76, of St. Louis passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Gratiot Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. from the Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd. Interment will be in Salt River Cemetery.

Richard was born Sept. 11. 1926, in Chippewa Township in Isabella County to Herman and Reka (Rambow) Heiden. He married Thelma L. Lyon May 1, 1954, in Lansing.

He had lived in this area all of his life. He was a member of the Boilermakers Union No. 169, retiring in 1988.

Richard is survived by his wife, Thelma; two sons, Kenneth (Vickie) Heiden of Shepherd and Kevin (Sherry) Heiden of St. Louis; a stepson, Jim (Barb) Clark of Indiana; five grandchildren, Jeremiah, Zackariah, Kevin Jr. and Mikayla Heiden, and Chris Culver, 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bertha Mae Drake of Granger, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gail Ann Heiden; one sister, Nellie Ayres; and one brother, Lewis Heiden.
