Roberta Heiden (nee Gall) died March 12, 2018 in Blissfield, Michigan surrounded by family, as she wished. She was 87.

Roberta was born on May 30, 1930 to Gertrude (nee Ewing) and William Gall in Holland, Ohio.

In 1951, she graduated from The Toledo Hospital School of Nursing. That same year she married the love of her life, Robert Heiden, on May 26.

While raising four children, Roberta worked for the Monroe County Health Department for 24 years. Bob and Roberta then relocated to Florida, where she continued working part-time as a home care nurse. Roberta especially enjoyed providing comfort to people in their homes. Forever a nurturer, Roberta was always "on call" for family, friends or anyone in need, even after retirement.

In addition to sharing the same birthday, Bob and Roberta enjoyed 54 wonderful years together until Bob's death in 2005. She loved to read and swim. Among close friends, Roberta was known for her keen card-playing skills, endless patience for Bob's humor and a deep devotion to her family.

Roberta is survived by her children: Neil (Karen, nee Nirschl) of Blissfield, Michigan, Dale (Patricia, nee Doe) of Brooklyn, Michigan, Mark (Victoria, nee Lazette) of Mesa, Arizona, Lori (Larry Cannell) of Farmington Hills, Michigan, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Bob, brother William Gall and grandsons Eric Heiden and Daqaun Heiden.

No service is planned. In lieu of flowers, Roberta's family requests that donations be made in her name to Hospice of Lenawee
