This 1895 receipt is for a large number of windows and doors which were purchased by August Heiden's son, Ernst "Ernest" Heiden (left). We can only speculate on how these items were used. They could be for Ernst's home on South Custer Road or they could be for a house that he and his father were building or on a house that he and his brother, William Carl (right) were building for someone else. We know that August and William were involved in building houses for people in the community but have no information on whether Ernest was also involved in this enterprise.
