Looks like August Heiden (left) purchased a piece of equipment for mowing hay, straw and weeds. At that time, it would have been pulled behind a couple of horses with the farmer on the metal seat. This purchase took place in September of 1902 and was probably used on August's home farm at 8700 South Custer Road. Accounting for inflation, the item would cost about $1,200 in 2025.
