Lavern and Sallie (Andrews) Berns built this home next to his parents, Hank and Edna (Heiden) Berns' property, in the late 1950s. Hank and Edna's house is to the east (right in this picture). Dutch and Sallie moved here from their home at 8031 Dixon Road.

I remember that in the late 1950s or early 1960s. I used to ride my bicycle a couple of miles to come here to play baseball with Galen and Darrel and others. There was an open lot to the left of the house shown above and a bunch of neighborhood kids would get together and play ball all afternoon.
