In the 1930 U.S. Census, Lester,
Lila and their son, Robert lived at 601 Sixth Street in
Monroe, Michigan. By the 1940 U.S. Census, they were living in
this house on South Custer Road along with their daughter,
Donna Mae who was born in 1934. Later, they built a
new house on the north
side of South Custer Road next door to the
Rambow homestead.
They
also lived here during the 1950s and, perhaps, the early
1960s because I remember going there with my parents,
