According to the 1930 U.S. Census, Mildred (Heiden) and John Eipperle lived here. At that time, Mildred's still unmarried sister, Helma (Heiden) Nickel lived with them as a boarder. They all worked at River Raisin Paper mill in Monroe. John (23) was a printer, Mildred (22) was a stitcher and Helma (20) was listed as a case packer.

During a 1995 conversation with Helma, she stated that she earned 18 cents per hour or $1.44 for an 8 hour day at this job.
