This unnamed male was the last of four children born to Christoph Ludwig Friedrich "Ludwig" Heiden and his first wife who was German and died when this child was only 18 months old.

Ludwig, who had moved from Germany to Sweden was a younger brother of August Heiden's mother, Maria Heiden. Therefore, he was an uncle to August and his half-sister, Fredericka (Heiden) Schmidt.

On January 27, 1883, Ludwig sent a letter to his nephew, August Heiden in America containing this information. "And the youngest, whose mother died when he was 18 months old, is a blacksmith. He is strong and good natured. He also got the inclination to go to America and left here on May 4th. He is in Boston." He would have been August's first cousin.
