Gary Lee Miller was born on February 9, 1943 in Monroe Hospital, Monroe, Michigan and was the second child of Florence "Maggie" (Heiden) and Harold "Butch" Miller.

He was a 1961 graduate of Ida High School and worked at General Motors.

Gary married Marcia Lee Polley on June 29, 1963. Marcia was born on March 6, 1943. They had 3 children.

Gary died on August 15, 2004 at the age of 61.
 

Gary and my older brother, Ron, were good friends. Occasionally, I would be included in their activities even though I was 5 or 6 years younger than the others. Once, in the depth of winter, I remember a bunch of us getting into Gary's car and ramming around on the ice covered, unpaved back roads. The car would slide into the ditch and we would all get out to push it back onto the road so we could take off again. This was long before seatbelts and, fortunately, we all came through unscathed while having a lot of fun.
