Florence Agnes "Maggie" (Heiden) Miller was born June 21, 1911 as the sixth child of Ernst "Ernest" and Anna (Knack) Heiden. She was born at the family home at 8925 South Custer Road and attended the one-room Fonia School which was located about a mile or so away at 11411 Trost Road through the 8th grade.

On December 1, 1934, she married Harold "Butch" Miller in St Paul's Lutheran Church in Maybee, Michigan. They had two sons and lived at 2692 Gloff Road in Dundee Township most of their married life.

During her adult life, Maggie worked at the Pur-O-Lator factory in Petersburg. Butch farmed and also worked at Haddox Elevator and then at Michigan Tube Swager Co. in Temperance from 1966 to 1975.

Maggie was confined to a wheelchair later in life and died on July 24, 1993 at the age of 82. At the time of her death, she had 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Butch, who was born April 15, 1911 passed away on March 2, 1999 at the age of 88.

Maggie was my father, Art Heiden's cousin and they were close throughout their lives. Butch and Maggie were fun people and, as a teenager, I would sometimes drop my parents off at their place so they could have an evening of cards and laughter...and a few beers. I would go on a date or meet some friends for a while before going back to pick up my parents around 11:00 or 11:30. The house was on a dark, lonely, unpaved road typical of the rural area in those days.
