Marvin John Koster was born December 18, 1919 as the third and final child of Lena (Heiden) and John Koster, Jr.

He attended Dundee High School and, in 1944, he married Kathleen Laffere (right) who died in 1946 at the age of 22.

The picture to the left shows Marv in a military uniform that he wore while serving in the U.S. Army in World War II.

In the 1950 U.S. Census, Marvin was listed as living at a farm at 6103 Hiser Road in Dundee Township. Later, he lived on the Bordine farm at 11501 Dixon Road.

In 1956, he married Mary M. (Knegendorf) Boldt (right). There were no children from either marriage.

In addition to farming, Marv was a U.S. Postal Service Rural Mail Carrier from 1969-1985.

On July 3, 1999, Marvin died at the age of 79 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe, Michigan. He is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundee. Mary died at the age of 84 on September 1, 2008 in Dundee and is also buried at Maple Grove Cemetery.
