Charles Gordon "Gordon" Toburen was born April 13, 1937 at home in Dundee Township, Monroe County, Michigan. He was the second child of Florence (Roggeman) and Charles Toburen.

Gordon was a 1956 graduate of Dundee High School .

He married Carol Jean Heiden on May 3, 1958 at St Matthew Lutheran Church in Raisinville Township, Monroe County. They had four children and lived in Pennsylvania.

He worked much of his adult life for Union Camp Corporation in Manheim, Pennsylvania.

Gordon died on March 3, 2024 at the age of 86 in Manheim.
