Elizabeth "Eliza" (Getty) Anderson was the daughter of John and Elizabeth "Eliza" Getty. She was born in Craigs, County Antrim, Northern Ireland on July 13, 1819.

Her family came to Ridgeway Township, Lenawee County, Michigan from Ireland in 1865.

She married William Anderson in 1842 and they had eight children:

4. Mary (Anderson) Elliott

5. William Anderson

6. Samuel J. Anderson

7. Nancy Anderson

8. Ella Anderson

In 1862 William and Eliza sold their land and belongings, intending to come to America, but due to the failing health of their eldest daughter, they were compelled to remain in Ireland until after her death in September of 1863. They finally made the journey to New York in 1865  and William's health was in decline and he died on October 27, 1865 in Ridgeway Township.

They lived on a 40 acre farm just off North Ridge Highway on Milwaukee Road and owned another piece of property near Ridgeway.

Eliza died at the age of 74 on October 9, 1892. She and William are buried at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh, Michigan.
