Alexander "Elick" Titsworth was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1863 in Elmira, New York. He was the son of Nancy Ann (Getty, Downing, Titsworth, Williams, Lafler) and Elias J. Titsworth.

After his family moved back to Michigan, Elick stayed on in New York through his teenage years.

He was married to Eunice Bennett in Elmira, New York circa 1884 and they had seven children:

1. James H. Titsworth
2. Ella A. (Titsworth) Converse
3. Nancy Anna (Titsworth) Moll
4. Martha "Mattie" (Titsworth) Nichols
5. Elias Titsworth
6. Walter M. Titsworth
7. Harold R. Titsworth

James and Ella were born in New York before Elick and his family moved back to Michigan. They lived on various farms in Ridgeway, Lenawee County and Milan Township in Monroe County.

Alexander died on November 26, 1944 at the age of 80. Eunice, who was born on July 7, 1863, passed away on November 7, 1932 at 69 years of age. Both are  buried in the Ridgeway Cemetery .
