A funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2001, in Oregon City United Methodist Church for Hazel Edith Bengtson, who died June 14 at age 91.

Mrs. Bengtson was born Hazel Edith Getty on May 17, 1910, in Crystal Springs, N.D. She moved from Minnesota to Oregon City in 1948. She and her husband owned Holgate Paint & Wallpaper until their retirement in the early 1970s. She was a member of the church for more than 50 years. In 1928, she married Joseph Bengtson; he died in 1978.

Survivors include her daughters, Jeannine Bengtson Thompson, Joy Bengtson Russell and Betty Bengtson Frederick; sister, Bernice Bauske; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her daughter Mary P. Bengtson died in infancy.

Interment in Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City. Remembrances to her church. Arrangements by Holman Hankins Bowker & Waud.
