Ervin Leo Klatt was born as the second child of Elsie (Heiden) and Otto Klatt. on September 19, 1926 and he died on November 30, 2014 at the age of 88.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a maintenance man until his retirement in 1988. Ervin did not marry and had no children.
