From the information we have been able to gather, William Carl and Mary (Rambow) Heiden first lived on what was once called the "Adler Farm" shortly after their marriage in 1897.  The following year, 1898, their first child, Edna (Heiden) Berns was born in that house which no longer exists as shown in the picture above.

In 1899, they moved a short distance east down the road to the Albright farm at 6140 South Custer Road.

In a 1995 conversation with Helma (Heiden) Nickel who was Wm and Mary's 7th child and the first one to be born at 8861 Dixon Road, this place was called the Abby farm.

Also according to Helma, her brother, Arthur Heiden, worked at the Knapp farm in his late teens
