According to the 1950 U.S. Census, Florence (Roggeman) and Charles Toburen and their children Carol, Gordon and Stanley lived about 1.25 miles north of M-50.

Sometime shortly after that, the family moved to a farm at 12330 Dixon Road which was next door to the east of Florence's cousin, Mildred (Roggerman) Heiden and her family who lived at 12444 Dixon.
