  Christopher Rehmann,
Sr.
was born in April, 1842 in Braunshweig, Stadtkreis
Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany. He was the
eleventh and final child of
Johann Carl and Margaretta (Oldenberg) Rehmann.
Christopher and his
parents immigrated to the U.S. on the ship
SS Louise Marie out of Bremen, Germany. The landed in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 6, 1852.
About 1862, he
married Wilhelmina Wolmelsdorf who was born in
September of 1842. She had immigrated to the U.S. in
1848 from Prussia, Germany.
They had 12 children:

the family was listed as living in Hammonton in
Atlantic County, New Jersey. Christopher was
working at a cranberry bog and was also a farmer.
Sometime before 1900,
Christopher became a naturalized U.S. citizen.
By the 1910 census,
they were living on Eleventh Street in Hammonton.
Their daughter, Louis, and her husband, Charles
Weber, were living with them along with their children:
